School District 88 is a pre-kindergarten through eighth grade school district located in the western suburbs of Chicago. We educate more than 2,000 students across several municipalities in Proviso Township.  We are supported by over 400 staff members who all have a commitment to ensuring the academic success and social-emotional well-being of each child enrolled.  There are 7 schools in our district – 2 primary schools, 4 elementary schools, and 1 middle school.  We serve students in Bellwood, Broadview, Hillside, Maywood, Melrose Park, and Stone Park.

Our focus is to ensure that all children enrolled in our school district are successful.  We aim to provide a healthy, safe, engaging, and challenging learning environment in all our schools.  Our dedication to success within our school district starts with our award-winning early childhood program and full-day kindergarten offered at all our elementary schools.

District 88 has a diverse community and an inclusive culture where our educational practices and allocation of resources support equity and justice in the attainment of educational outcomes for all students.  We are also committed to cultivating an innovative learning space through the development of an instructional technology plan that includes 1:1 connectivity for all students and investments in instructional designs and strategies.

For our staff, we promote collaboration and continual growth through the successful implementation of Professional Learning Communities (PLC).  We encourage our staff to attend professional developments throughout the school year and we offer a variety of workshops during Early Release Days held twice per month at every school in the district.  We also partner with area universities to offer certified staff members options to further their education and better support our students.
