Attend School Today, Achieve Success Tomorrow
Chronic absenteeism in District 88 is at an all time high. Students are missing multiple days of school every week. Absences have a direct impact on a student's academic and social-emotional progress. When keeping students from home multiple days per week consider these things:
- One missed day of school represents one day of learning loss for each student
- Students who miss more than 2 days each month, become less engaged in learning
- Teachers have to slow down teaching skills to help chronically absent students catch up
- Regular attendance helps build students confidence in learning and communicating
