Student Services
The Department of Special Education and Student Services is committed to supporting students, families, staff, and administrators in alignment with federal and state requirements.
Our work reflects the district’s commitment to a rigorous and relevant education for all scholars through the 3E framework of Excellence, Equity, and Engagement.
The department is guided by the core values of Professionalism, Adaptability, Support, and Empathy (PASE).
We focus on supporting the academic, emotional, and social well-being of students through school-based services and strong family and community partnerships. Our goal is to ensure students are prepared for college, career, and life through meaningful learning experiences.
Section 504 Services
Some students with disabilities may not qualify for an Individualized Education Program (IEP) under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). These students may still be eligible for support under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
Section 504 protects students who have a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities. Eligibility may also include students who have a record of such an impairment or are regarded as having such an impairment.
Section 504 ensures that eligible students receive appropriate accommodations to access their education.
For questions about eligibility or to request an evaluation, contact the Department of Special Education and Student Services.
