Welcome to i-Ready in District 88

Helping every child start strong and grow with confidence.

 

Beginning this school year, Bellwood School District 88 is introducing i-Ready® Diagnostic & Instruction in grades K–8 for reading and mathematics. i-Ready helps us understand each child’s learning needs, personalize instruction, and support growth throughout the year. By starting with the i-Ready Diagnostic, teachers gain valuable information to meet students where they are and guide them toward success.

 
 

What is i-Ready?

i-Ready is an online program that:

  • Identifies each child’s strengths and areas for growth.

  • Provides teachers with information to guide instruction.

  • Offers interactive lessons tailored to each student’s needs.

i-Ready Diagnostic

The i-Ready Diagnostic is an adaptive assessment that adjusts the difficulty of questions based on student responses. Some questions may feel too easy or too hard—this helps determine each child’s starting point.

  • Students in grades K–8 will take the first diagnostic beginning the week of September 15, 2025.

  • The diagnostic does not give a grade or score. Its purpose is to inform personalized instruction.

After the diagnostic, i-Ready creates a Personalized Learning Platform called MyPath for each student. MyPath:

  • Challenges students in areas of strength.
  • Provides review and practice where more support is needed.
  • Offers interactive lessons that engage students while building skills.
 

 

How Families Can Support

You can help your child feel confident and ready:

  • Ensure a good night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast on testing days.

  • Encourage them to take their time and try their best.

  • Remind them it’s okay if some questions feel too hard—they are part of finding the right starting point.

  • Celebrate effort and growth as they work through lessons in MyPath.

Accessing i-Ready:
Students log in through Classlink using their school Chromebook for easier access. Within i-Ready, you can view your child’s diagnostic results and the lessons in their MyPath.
