District Communications

Under the Office of the Superintendent, the Communications Office supports clear, consistent, and engaging communication across Bellwood School District 88. Our work connects students, staff, families, and the broader community by sharing the stories, achievements, and initiatives that shape our schools.

Communication efforts include:

Print and digital publications
Social media and website content
Family and staff communications
Media relations and press outreach
Student and staff recognition
District events and community engagement
Crisis communication and response

Our goal is to strengthen engagement by ensuring our community stays informed, connected, and inspired by the work happening across the district.

District staff are encouraged to share classroom highlights, school events, and student achievements for possible feature on district platforms.

Submission Tips:

Use clear, high-quality photos
Select high resolution settings when using a mobile device
Use natural lighting whenever possible
Credit photographers when applicable
Submit videos in MP4 or MOV format
Record videos in landscape (horizontal) format
Keep written descriptions brief and clear
Include key details: who, what, when, and where
Add relevant links or tags when appropriate

Disclaimer

Throughout the year, the Communications Coordinator, district and school administrators, and school staff take photographs, videos and voice recordings of students and staff for use on the district and school websites, newsletters, and social media channels. Sometimes, we share these images and videos with local media outlets (both print and online). These images and videos allow us to share the great things happening in classrooms and throughout our schools and help us to celebrate our students’ success by sharing news of notable achievements with the community.

Opt-Out of Media Participation

Families who do not wish to have their student photographed, recorded, or publicly recognized must submit a written request.

Requests must include:
