District Communications

Under the Office of the Superintendent, the Communications Office supports clear, consistent, and engaging communication across Bellwood School District 88. Our work connects students, staff, families, and the community by sharing the stories, achievements, and initiatives that showcase learning across the district.

The Communications Office serves as the district's official source for news, information, media relations, and community engagement. Our goal is to keep our community informed, connected, and engaged while promoting transparency and celebrating the accomplishments of our students and staff.

Share Your Story

District staff are encouraged to share classroom highlights, student achievements, school events, and other success stories for possible feature on district communication channels.

When submitting photos or videos:

Use clear, high-quality images.
Select the highest resolution available on your device.
Use natural lighting whenever possible.
Record videos in landscape (horizontal) format.
Submit videos in MP4 or MOV format.
Include a brief description with the who, what, when, and where.
Credit photographers when applicable.

Media Participation

Throughout the school year, Bellwood School District 88 may photograph, record, or film students and staff during school activities, programs, and events. These images and recordings may be used on district websites, social media platforms, newsletters, promotional materials, or shared with local media to highlight student learning and district initiatives.

If you have questions or would like a copy of a photo or video that includes your child, please contact the Communications Office.

Media Opt-Out

Families who do not wish to have their student photographed, recorded, or publicly recognized may submit a written request.

Requests must include:

Student name
Date of birth
School and grade level
Current teacher

To protect student privacy, requests must:

Be signed with an original signature.
Be mailed or delivered in person.
Email and photocopied requests cannot be accepted.

Media Requests

All media inquiries, interview requests, and on-site visits should be coordinated through the Communications Office.

The Communications Office serves as the district's official point of contact for:

Press releases

Journalists and media organizations interested in receiving district press releases may contact the Communications Office to be added to the distribution list.
