Buildings and Grounds

The Department of Buildings & Grounds is responsible for maintaining safe, clean, and well-functioning learning environments that support student success across Bellwood School District 88.

 

Department Responsibilities

Buildings & Grounds personnel play a vital role in both daily operations and long-term facility planning. Responsibilities include:

  • Custodial services to ensure clean and sanitary school environments
  • General maintenance and repairs across all district facilities
  • Groundskeeping and landscape maintenance
  • Delivery and movement of equipment, furniture, and supplies between buildings
  • Monitoring environmental quality to support the health and safety of students, staff, and visitors
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable safety and environmental regulations

Building Use and Rental

Community members and organizations may request to use district facilities by completing a Building Use and Rental Application.

To request use of a facility:

  1. Complete the Building Use and Rental Application
  2. Submit the application to the building administrator of the requested school
  3. Await review and approval

All facility use requests require approval by the Board of Education.

Applicants are encouraged to review the Board of Education meeting schedule when planning submissions, as approval timelines are dependent on scheduled meetings.
