Facility Master Plan Information

In the fall of 2017, our district decided to support and promote Proviso School District 209’s facility master plan process. This master plan will support our vision of preparing students to be contributing members of a dynamic, global society. The district's architectural firm will be gathering information from stakeholders through a public community engagement session. We encourage all parents and guardians to attend the Proviso Township High Schools master facility planning meeting on Tuesday, April 24 at 6:00 p.m. To learn more about this process, please take a moment to read an informational letter regarding the facility master plan. You may also read the letter in Español.

Suicide Prevention Program at Roosevelt Middle School

Roosevelt Middle School is offering depression awareness and suicide prevention training as part of the SOS Signs of Suicide Prevention Program. We will present this program to all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders on April 16, April 23, and April 25. The SOS program comes from Elyssa’s Mission, a non-profit organization dedicated to suicide prevention. Please take a moment to read all the details about this program in our suicide prevention letter. If you have any questions and/or do not want your child to participate in the SOS program, please contact Jillian Thomas at (708) 410.3049 prior to the program date. If we do not hear from you, we will assume your child has permission to participate in the program.

Bellwood ECC

Click to view more photos of Bellwood ECCBellwood Early Childhood Center (ECC) has been bustling with engaging extracurricular activities that extend learning beyond the walls of our pre-k classrooms and further establish their foundations for learning. We have highlighted some of these exciting activities.

In 2017 our ECC participated in the following events: McTeacher Night, Ronald McDonald visits, holiday sing-alongs, holiday craft day, and hot chocolate with a favorite holiday story (shared reading with a parent).

We’ve also entered into 2018 on an academic high note; ECC students participated in a winter reading challenge over the winter holiday break. Roughly sixty of our preschool students participated. During the month of January our students participated in World Read-Aloud Day. They listened to village firemen, district personnel, and various ECC staff read aloud books within the classroom and continued engaging in reading activities at home with their parents. The fun has continued during the month of February as ECC hosted grandparents’ day, dress for your future career day, taste of diversity day, as well as an ECC musical in celebration of Black History Month.
